Learn Polish with a daily word game
Looking for a fun way to pick up Polish vocabulary? Leksogram is a daily word puzzle where you find English words on a grid and instantly see their Polish translations, pronunciation, and usage in context. No textbooks, no flashcards, just an engaging puzzle that teaches you Polish naturally.
How it works
Every day at midnight a fresh 4×4 letter grid appears. Your goal is to find as many English words as possible by tracing adjacent letters (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). Each word must be at least 4 letters long.
Why this works for learning Polish
Most Polish learning apps throw grammar rules and vocabulary lists at you. Leksogram takes a different approach. Instead of memorizing isolated words, you discover them inside an engaging puzzle. The Polish translation appears in context, right after you actively constructed the English word from individual letters.
This combination of active recall (building the word yourself) and immediate context (seeing the translation, pronunciation, and examples) creates stronger memory traces than passive studying. You learn Polish vocabulary as a natural byproduct of playing a fun game.
What you learn with every word
Every word you find on the grid comes with a complete linguistic profile. This is not just a translation app. You get the full picture:
Polish translation
Every scored word shows its Polish equivalent, with separate translations for different parts of speech. You learn that "run" as a verb and "run" as a noun have different Polish words. Real translations, not machine-generated guesses.
Pronunciation and IPA
See the IPA transcription for every word so you know exactly how to pronounce it. Essential when you want to use these words in actual conversation. No more guessing how English words sound.
Definitions and examples
Each word includes an English definition, example sentences showing the word in natural use, and synonyms to expand your vocabulary network. Context makes words stick.

A broad, curated word base
The game draws from a base of over 5,000 core words spanning levels A1 through C1, including inflected forms (verb conjugations, plurals, adjective forms) that bring the total to tens of thousands of recognized word forms. On top of that, each board includes bonus words from a wider database of over 168,000 English words.
Every core word has a verified Polish translation, IPA transcription, English definition, example sentences, and synonyms. You get professional, domain-specific, and academic vocabulary alongside everyday words.
Frequently asked questions
Is Leksogram free?
Yes, completely free. The daily puzzle, Polish translations, IPA pronunciation, and all core features cost nothing.
Do I need to know Polish to play?
Not at all. The puzzle is in English. You trace English words on the grid. After finding a word, the app shows its Polish translation alongside the English definition and pronunciation. It works perfectly for beginners in Polish.
Can I play on desktop?
Yes. Leksogram is responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. On desktop you click letters instead of swiping. You can also add it to your home screen as a PWA, no app store download needed.
How is this different from Duolingo?
Duolingo teaches Polish through structured lessons with pre-made exercises. Leksogram is a puzzle game where you actively construct words and discover their Polish translations as a reward for solving the puzzle. Different approach, complementary results.
